Annual meeting 2024

The 2024 Annual Meeting was hosted by Staatsolie June 3-5, in Paramaribo, Suriname.

5 June: Training day

6-7 June: Following the annual meeting, participants were invited to join the events taking place during SEOGS 2024, which ran from 4-7 June.

Our two-day international roundtable 3-4 June brought together 50 people – primarily producer country representatives from around the world, subject matter experts, and participants from industry and international organisations. The discussions focused on the incentives and obstacles involved in developing natural gas and managing greenhouse gas emissions. Read the summary and analysis of the 2024 NP4SE Annual Meeting.

Each year, connections made at these events create real opportunities for collaboration between countries and increase the ability of governments to oversee the petroleum sector. This year’s discussion group meeting is designed for the participation of senior policy makers from energy ministries, department heads with responsibility for  environmental monitoring and permitting, senior NOC executives. As in the past, we also welcome the participation of younger, rising stars in the civil service (or NOCs).

Member countries can send nominations to attend the 2024 Annual Meeting. Reach out to the secretariat to find out how. We will select up to four delegates per country for the international roundtable 3-4 June (more spaces are available for the training day on 5 June).
