- 9:00 am
The New Producers for Sustainable Energy and the Petroleum Commission, Ghana are organising a workshop and training on licensing and negotiation on 7-8 November in Takoradi, Ghana. The main purpose of the event is to review licensing strategies in today’s context and ask where flexibility on terms is warranted, and where it will harm long-term State interests. These discussions will help us update our 2016 Guidelines for Good Governance, which were developed in a very different market and policy context.
The Workshop sessions 7-8 November will cover the following themes:
- Global trends in investment and fiscal terms
- Country experience: Protecting State interests in licensing
- Getting the process right
- Reviewing licensing priorities
The training on negotiation will be in the afternoon of 8 November and cover the following:
- What is negotiable given the legislative framework?
- Preparing for negotiation
- Principles
- Mock negotiation
Participants are invited to attend Ghana’s Local Content Conference, which takes place 4-6 November in Takoradi.
Invitations have been sent to all member countries. Reach out to the secretariat to express your interest in attending.
